The Lilizela Award Trophy went to Ivory Tree Game Lodge, Pilanesburg

Five-star graded, Pilanesberg-based Ivory Tree Game Lodge, tats just a few hours drive from Johannesburg,  was presented with the Lilizela trophy for the North West Parks and Tourism Board Winner – Best Game Lodge of the Year 2014 by the North West Parks and Tourism Board’s Thuto Masibi, Stakeholder Relations Officer, and Fancy Sentle, Relations Officer.

The trophy was given to the management team at an intimate ceremony held recently at the lodge.  The Lilizela Awards takes its name from an nguni word meaning to ululate, which in local culture is a form of congratulations, and serves to recognise and reward tourism players and businesses who work passionately and with pride to deliver a world class product or service, and whose delivery grows South Africa’s global competitiveness as a tourism destination.

Ivory Tree accommodation (on the doorstep of Sun City) consist of 60 standard rooms, four luxurious suites and a presidential suite, each  equipped with en-suite bathrooms accomplish by outdoor showers. Children are welcome at Ivory Tree Lodge:

  • Unfortunately kids under the age of 6 are not permitted on game drives.
  • Children between 6 & 12 years are permitted on game drives at the discretion of the guide.
