Month's of July

• Although July is not prime fishing time, travelers will experienced unusually cold and windy weather, but will still had a great time.
• Normally are use pilchards as bait. But, because that does not work in the winter, the Shayamanzi team make use of rapalas. At times when the Dam is very low, fishermen will enjoy fishing experiences, trawling in the gorge and the mouth.
• At the beginning of July one will usually catch a few large Tiger Fishes, at times one that weighed in at 4.5 kg! During July cruises the catches were at least two Tiger fish per day, which is very good during the winter season.

On the weekend of  10 July 2015, Shayamanzi were fortunate enough to welcome two very special guests aboard the Shayamanzi 2 - singer songwriter and comedian, Buddy Vaughn and radio personality, Kate Turkington.

• Having been involved in the SA music industry for 59 years, Buddy has developed a superb combination of music and sing along presentations for a host of social events and culture groups requiring fun and audience inter-action. Known throughout South Africa for his ‘Visvang Tunes' range of CD's, Buddy's hits include ‘Hartebeespoort Dam' – which he was happy to switch to ‘Jozini Dam’. Now, at the age of 71, he admits that he cannot stop performing, recording new material and making videos of his previous or new songs.

• Kate Turkington's weekly Sunday night three-hour live Talk Radio 702 / CapeTalk talk show, Believe It Or Not, which came to an end in early 2013, was South Africa’s longest-running radio talk show with the same host in the same time slot.
